Since signing up to the Swale Dementia Action Alliance late last year, Dementia Inspired is proud to be involved in several projects that have led to other community services signing up also.

Firstly, we are proud to be chairing the Sittingbourne Dementia Friendly Community Forum, which itself is a member of the SDAA and from which our first Dementia Awareness Event (SMILE – Swale Memory Information and Living-Well Event) took place during Dementia Awareness Week this May.

We are also on the committee for the Sheppey Dementia Friendly Community Forum. The collaborative efforts from this group were able to create a special flier showcasing all the dementia services that are available in Swale.

Also, since entering into our community training project, The Pulse Café in Sittingbourne was advised on how to further become a dementia friendly community, and has also signed up to the SDAA and there are now plans to assist The Forum Shopping Centre in Sittingbourne to sign up also and become one of the first Dementia Friendly Shopping Centres in the South East.
